So a couple days ago I requested to join this
Missionary Girlfriend Support group on Facebook just for the heck of it,
figuring I’d just read other Missionary Girlfriend’s stories and blogs for fun.
BUT YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED!!!!!
I
was added into the group yesterday and was asked to tell a little about myself and my missionary, so I
did. Then someone replied and said she’s from Oaxaca. Cool, right?! BUT WAIT.
She then posts this picture on the page and says, “Lovely miss Chanel Lawson, please tell me is this your Elder Gibby? :)”
My reaction when I saw the picture:

My reaction when I saw the picture:
IS THAT MY ELDER GIBBY?!?
LET ME TELL YOU, WHY YES IT IS!!
He was wearing the tie
I gave him and everything!! GAH he's so cute! And his hair! It was as fantastic as always :) Ahhh! :D
It turns out this wonderful, fellow Missionary Girlfriend is in the same stake as Elder Gibby's Mission President! The Mission President’s
wife keeps a Facebook page for the mission, and updates it constantly. So I
think we all know what my newest most visited webpage will be…
BUT THERE’S MORE! Next week
she’ll be going to Juchitán because she’s the coordinator for EFY that week!
She said if she sees him, she’ll be sure to say hi!!
GOSH I AM SO EXCITED RIGHT
NOW!! I'm getting all excited just typing about it! When I told my friends when I first found out I was doing a mix of these two things (I'm being completely serious!):
Okay, I’m calm now. Promise.
I was seriously running around and jumping up and down after all this happened. Anyone who saw me would probably have thought I had gone insane or something! Nope, I'm not (entirely) crazy, it’s just a small world! :)
Anyway, I haven't mentioned this on my blog before, but this summer I’m going on a Study Abroad
to Mérida, México!! Mérida is located on the Yucatán Peninsula. I’m so excited! I recently got my flight booked and I’ve
been reading a blog of a girl who went on the same Study Abroad last summer, so
I’ve just been getting more and more excited!
Here is the link to it if you're interested in reading about her experience!
That's where I'm gonna be for 7 weeks this summer!
Anywho, I’m planning on posting about my
adventures there along with things about Elder Gibby, so it’ll be a bit of a
dual-themed blog this summer :)
Good grief, I’LL BE IN MEXICO ON JUNE 25TH :) I can't wait!!! Not just for the reason that I'll be in the same country as Elder Gibby, but this experience is going to be a BLAST! And no, Elder Gibby is NOT the reason I chose to go on the Study Abroad to Mexico :P I want to be able to speak Spanish more fluently, and what better way than to immerse myself in it! Elder Gibby is just a perk ;)
Anyway, I won’t be close to Elder Gibby much at all, but I’ll be in the same country as him, and that’s plenty good for me! I don't care if I can't see him! We'll be 536 miles apart, which is 1,300 miles closer than we are right now! :D So crazy!!
So close, but yet so far!
Goodness, life is so good! I love it so much! :)
858 Days Left! :)

hahaha, believe it or not I was jumping up and down just like you, I don't even know why!:D This is the coolest thing ever!
