I'm Dorky and I Know It!

Before I leave for Mérida, I'm working at our neighborhood pools to make some money. The pools open up this weekend, so I've just been doing pool maintenance and random jobs so that the pools will be ready to open on time, and once they open, I'll be lifeguarding!

So, anyway, one of the jobs I had to do is clean the bathrooms, which really doesn't sound that bad... But these bathrooms haven't seen the light of day for 8 or 9 months. HOLY COW IT WAS DISGUSTING. There were colonies of ants, spiders, spider webs/cobwebs, debris, dirt, mud, standing water, mildew, mold... It took some guts not to run away and never come back!
This is totally what I wanted to do though.

If it's dirt, mud, and debris, that's totally fine! I can do that any day. But I hate hate HATE insects, especially spiders! Just seeing them in a picture gives me the heebie jeebies and I feel like I need to take a shower! Their nasty creepy-crawley legs and quick movements... YUCK YUCK YUCKY. Ron Weasley and I are totally in the same boat when we see spiders.

Even though I hate them A TON, I have this problem that I can't squish spiders. Even though they're so so sooo icky, I feel bad doing it! Well, and it scares me super bad. So I hafta get other people to do it for me!

How things go when I see a spider:
1. It usually takes me a second to realize what just appeared in front of my face...
2. I bolt, yelling, "Daaaaaad!!!!"

But seriously, it terrifies me when I let a spider get away and know that it'll come into my room, crawl in my bed and bite me in the middle of the night. Those evil creatures!

Well anyway, throughout that entire job, I tried to clean as fast as possible, working like a madman, spraying Lysol and sprinkling Comet on every visible surface, and trying not to touch anything.
I'M JUST GLAD IT'S OVER! Those bathrooms look spick-and-span though. I did a pretty amazing job! I could probably become a professional cleaner or something... As long as spiders are not involved! D:

Anywhooo... Onto more news of this past week!

HOLY CHEEZ-ITS I just started my mission papers this last Tuesday!! Ahhh! My bishop said the timing for everything is PERFECT! I just have to get all my paperwork and appointments done before I leave for Mexico (I already scheduled them!), then my papers will be ready to be turned in once I get back in August! So I should get my call in late September! OH MY GOSH IT'LL BE LIKE A BIRTHDAY PRESENT! I'M SO EXCITED! :D PARTY TIIIIIIME!
Yes, I really just did that dance.

Oh my goodness I am SUCH a dork! I'm embarrassing myself. At least I don't have to see your reaction since we're not face-to-face. Things would get a little awkward for me if I saw you staring at me like I was a freak...
Sorry for making you deal with my dorkiness, but it's just how I am... Whenever you visit my blog, just make sure you prepare yourself! Hehehe.

So every Monday I make sure I clear my schedule between 12 and 3 just so I can read the e-mail Elder Gibby sends me RIGHT when I get it! When I hear the little "ding", I drop EVERYTHING, start hyperventilating, do a little dance, then read the e-mail! Then I hafta read it over again because my eyes move too fast for my brain hahaha :)

The weather is so crazy where he is. It's been 120 degrees every day, and it's so hot at night he sometimes doesn't sleep at all. He and his companion haven't been teaching as much as they'd like to, either. I'm praying up a storm for him! He has a really good attitude though! He says he's never stopped working hard, so he feels like each new week he'll have more success. I'm so proud of him! And even though he's having a tough time, he goes off and worries about me when he really shouldn't! I'm hanging in there like a hanger in a closet! Honestly, Adam's one of the most selfless people I know. What a stud!

Sometimes I feel like my life is just my imagination… Everything is so crazy. I leave for Mexico in a month, then I'm leaving for a mission in hopefully 7 or 8! If this is a dream, though, I never want to wake up! :)

819 Days Left! :)
