This past Wednesday I visited my choir from high school. Going back to my high school was... Interesting, to say the least. It's fun if you have a friend or two with you, but when it's just you... Things are kinda awkward. Was everyone always so young?
When I was walking down the hall to get a drink of water at the drinking fountain, a bunch of kids in P.E. stared at me like they knew I didn't belong...
Their stares were making me uncomfortable... It's not like I'm 50 years old or anything! I'm 18! Jeez, some of the high school seniors are older than I am!
After I got settled in the auditorium, I listened to the choir rehearse for their concert. During one of the breaks between songs, one of my friends asked me how college was. Uh, after seeing this place again... Where to start?
High school is terrible in comparison to college. That's it. End of story. I'd say I had a pretty good high school experience, but college is SO MUCH BETTER! Just trust me on this one. It's a fact of life!
If it's your first time here, mosey your way on down to the Blog Archive. Under March you'll find my first post, "Pilot: 1,000 Days." :)

I'm Dorky and I Know It!
Before I leave for Mérida, I'm working at our neighborhood pools to make some money. The pools open up this weekend, so I've just been doing pool maintenance and random jobs so that the pools will be ready to open on time, and once they open, I'll be lifeguarding!
So, anyway, one of the jobs I had to do is clean the bathrooms, which really doesn't sound that bad... But these bathrooms haven't seen the light of day for 8 or 9 months. HOLY COW IT WAS DISGUSTING. There were colonies of ants, spiders, spider webs/cobwebs, debris, dirt, mud, standing water, mildew, mold... It took some guts not to run away and never come back!

This is totally what I wanted to do though.
If it's dirt, mud, and debris, that's totally fine! I can do that any day. But I hate hate HATE insects, especially spiders! Just seeing them in a picture gives me the heebie jeebies and I feel like I need to take a shower! Their nasty creepy-crawley legs and quick movements... YUCK YUCK YUCKY. Ron Weasley and I are totally in the same boat when we see spiders.
Even though I hate them A TON, I have this problem that I can't squish spiders. Even though they're so so sooo icky, I feel bad doing it! Well, and it scares me super bad. So I hafta get other people to do it for me!
How things go when I see a spider:
1. It usually takes me a second to realize what just appeared in front of my face...
2. I bolt, yelling, "Daaaaaad!!!!"
But seriously, it terrifies me when I let a spider get away and know that it'll come into my room, crawl in my bed and bite me in the middle of the night. Those evil creatures!
Well anyway, throughout that entire job, I tried to clean as fast as possible, working like a madman, spraying Lysol and sprinkling Comet on every visible surface, and trying not to touch anything.

I'M JUST GLAD IT'S OVER! Those bathrooms look spick-and-span though. I did a pretty amazing job! I could probably become a professional cleaner or something... As long as spiders are not involved! D:

Say Hello to My Little Friend, PERSEVERANCE!
So I went to the eye doctor this week to change my prescription for my contacts. I haven't been there in over a year, and I could tell my eyesight was getting worse, but HOLY COW, when you get a new prescription, it's incredible!!
Yes, Miranda and Claire (and Kiana), this David Tennant gif is for you :)
For those of you who cannot experience this, I congratulate you on your stellar eyesight, but IT'S SO AWESOME WHEN THE WHOLE WORLD UPGRADES TO HD. Seriously, it's a monumental moment in life!Welllll, onto the other events of this past week!

Achoo! I Think I Caught the Blues...
This Sunday is Mother's Day, which means Elder Gibby gets to talk to his family!! How exciting!! I'm so super excited for them :D Seriously. When you have a missionary in your family, Mother's Day and Christmas are the best days ever!!!!!!
Did you all know that this past Saturday was Stars Wars Day?!?
Elder Gibby loves Star Wars! Sometimes I wish he was serving state-side so I could send him packages all the time for the dumbest reasons without feeling like I was going broke. I totally would have sent him a Star Wars package. It would contain things he could use on his mission, of course! I don't know what exactly, but it definitely would! Hahaha.
Alrighty, well... This is my blog, so I know I'm entitled to say whatever I want. Aaaand I should be able to post about all my thoughts. Or something like that. But just FYI, the rest of this post contains moping... So proceed with caution.

May the 4th be with you ;)
So my family had the missionaries over for dinner last night! They were super nice and fun to talk to! I mean, I remember having the missionaries over for dinner a lot before I left for college (especially when my brother-in-law was investigating. I saw them like twice a week!), but other than those missionaries, I never really talked to the missionaries much…
Gah, I just love missionaries to death now though! For some reason whenever I see a missionary, my eyes get wide and I say to myself, "THEY KNOW ADAM!"
I did that A TON when I was working at the MTC and saw missionaries at the Provo temple!
Sometimes I catch myself and think:
BUT IT'S A POSSIBILITY!
Hahaha. Anyway, missionaries are the best! And Elder Gibby is definitely my favorite one!! ;)
