Worcestershire is a Tricky Spelling Bee Word!

Have you ever wondered how to say Worcestershire sauce?
... Probably not.

I hadn’t either, until Kelsey (my roommate in Mexico) told me it wasn’t pronounced the way it looks, then proceeded to pronounce it for me.
Er… What did you just say…?

Is that even a real word?

So she told me probably four times how to say it while we were in Mexico, and I just could NOT say it right for the life of me.

Then came this Friday, while I was at work. This missionary comes into the Wyview Creamery, and I hear him talking to my co-worker about how he’s from the Boston area, and that he was actually from Worcester, the place where Worcestershire sauce was invented!
I HEARD THAT WORD.
"Worcestershire."

My eyes got wide and I focused all my attention on that poor soul.
“Can you PLEASE say that word again?!” I pleaded.
I just had to hear it again so I could actually pronounce it!!!

He gave me a funny look.
“Uhh… Worcestershire?”

"YES!” I exclaimed.

And that resulted in the Elder teaching me how to say Worcestershire. And I made it my mission that night to teach all the customers who came in to say Worcestershire sauce!
... Except my mission was met with adversity.

Every time I held up the bottle and cheerfully asked, “Do you know how to say this word?” They’d say it correctly.

WHAT THE HECK.

Way to ruin my groove, Creamery customers...

I’m not sure if I was just gone petting some puppies or sleeping or something when the world taught everyone how to say Worcestershire sauce, but I feel pretty dang left out!

Who knows what other words’ REAL pronunciations are being hidden from me?!

But such is life. Sometimes you’re just one of those people who get left out of world counsels and stuff…
ANYWAY, new subject!

So there's this boy from my home stake who has the same birthday as me, same year and everything. We were in the same seminary class one year, and he's pretty cool.
So he got his mission call this past week, and opened in on Thursday night. Next thing I know, I see I have a notification on Facebook! So I click on it.

So Robert had commented on my profile picture, right after the comment where I said I was called to, and said, "Me too."
Uh... Did I see that wrong?
HUH? NO WAY. NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY.

Actually, yes way. He's going to the SAME MISSION AS ME. AND REPORTING THE SAME DATE. Us birthday buddies are gonna be district-ing it up in the MTC! Not to mention I'll probably see him in the mission!!!

SO CRAZY!

Speaking of crazy...

I'M GOING TO BE IN THE SAME ROOM AS THE PROPHET ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY! I am SUPER happy that I get to go to General Conference!!!!!! Look for me on the TV! hahaha. And I getta go to basically the best sessions too! Saturday and Sunday morning!

Okay, actually all the sessions rock. It's so weird to think about how last year is when I started getting really REALLY excited for General Conference. Before last year, I was just whatever about it. But twice a year we get the opportunity to learn from prophets, seers, and revelators!! We are so blessed! :) Perks of being a Mormon!
By the way, if you'd like to watch General Conference on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-12am and 2pm-4pm MST, here's the link! :)

JEEZ I'M SO EXCITED.
NOT TO MENTION I GET TO SEE MY BROTHER ON FRIDAY!!! My parents scored the tickets to General Conference, so I get to spend some quality time with him! (And with my parents and my other brother and his wife... But more importantly Adam! :D) I am so dang excited! So he got back from his mission at the end of January, and he came here to Provo in February for a week. But I only saw him like twice in the whole week, and then he left to go to Alaska for the entire summer.

Needless to say, I MISS HIM!! He is so funny and he is absolutely one of my most favorite people!
I GET TO SEE MY BIG BROTHER IN A FEW DAYS!!! Eeeee!! :)

Now as for the other Adam in my life... :)

This week Elder Gibby's area was the leading area in his mission! He is so happy to have a companion that really wants to work. It's exhausting, but it's really paying off! He has two baptisms for this week!  Yayy!!

Elder Gibby and his companion also had a fun experience of eating to the point of being bloated. In Mexico as a missionary, you canNOT refuse food that people offer you. It really offends them, so you just eat no matter how full you are.

So Elder Gibby and his companion were at an investigator's house, and her dad had made them some food. They kindly turned it down, because right after their appointment they were going to a lunch appointment with a member. The dad made Elder Gibby and his companion food, so they ended up eating right before their lunch appointment. Aaaand for their lunch appointment they were fed giant tacos.

This was them when they got home:
They just laid on their beds, nearly dead from over-eating.
It suffices to say that they wished they never had to eat again. Poor missionaries!!!
... I'm just really hoping it doesn't come to that point for me...

OH! And he got the two letters I sent to him! I was so excited!! He also sent out the package for me. GOODNESS GOLLY ME I don't know if I can handle any more trips to the mail box after what happened with my mission call... Hahahaha. I'm hoping it'll be here sooner rather than later!!

686 Days Left! :)
